Powerful eight-man Joshua Kauvesi had 2 tries, one in each half as he began his sixth year in the program showing his ability to generate scores, adding a good deal of fitness to this year’s campaign. Playing in their first games two rookies also found the end zone; Pita Matasau playing outside center excited the crowd with a 50 yard sprint to score, and sophomore prop Devon Allen plowed over for 5 points.
Flanker Jaden Groesbeck was flying all the field tackling everything that moved while scrumhalf Elias Bergstrom was outstanding in his #9 jersey.
In the B side game the Lobos came up short 17-12. Osai Walker scored two tries for the home team and Jackson Petty converted one of them.
The Lobos return to the Lobodome this Friday to host Bishop O Dowd with an early 5:00 kickoff.
